Het ministerie van Openbare Werken (OW) is drukdoende diverse wegen te rehabiliteren. OW-minister Riad Nurmohamed zegt dat onlangs gestart is met de herstel – en asfalteringswerkzaamheden van de Kasabaholoweg. \u201cDeze weg is een verbindingsweg die vaak wordt gebruikt. Hierdoor ontstaat er file\u201d, aldus de bewindsman.<\/p>\n

Hij geeft aan dat er ook andere wegen zijn opgenomen in het programma, waaronder de Jagernath Lachmonstraat, Tourtonne-laan en de Gompertstraat. De minister verzoekt weggebruikers om hun medewerking te verlenen tijdens de werkzaamheden.<\/p>\n

De Gemenelandsweg en wel de strekking Lalla Rookhweg tot de Zonnebloemstraat, is reeds aangepakt.<\/p>\n

Volgens Vikash Moenna, onderdirecteur Droge Civieltechnische Werken, zal er vanaf de politiepost Uitvlucht tot de Langa Tabikistraat worden geasfalteerd. Het gaat om een wegoppervlakte van 320 meter lang en 6 meter breed.<\/p>\n

\u201cHet zal dit jaar niet meer lukken om de overige delen aan te pakken, maar het werk wordt voortgezet in 2024\u201d, stelt Moenna.<\/p>\n
